Management Team

ESD’s management team is a culmination of experience from the front lines of clinical care and healthcare IT management. We support a corporate culture and organic approach to HIT that has translated to successful implementations, knowledge transfers and other HIT workflow projects for organizations nationwide.

Torti2Joseph Torti is the Founder and President of ESD. In this role, Mr. Torti is responsible for overseeing sales and finance operations of the company, as well as strategic client relationships and business development.

ESD was established in 1990 as a solo operation, with Mr. Torti as a consultant in the healthcare industry. As the business grew, Joe slowly added on additional consultants with extensive IT and healthcare experience, and over the past five years, the company has added 30 corporate employees and thousands of clinical IT consultants.

Under Mr. Torti’s leadership, ESD is active member in a variety of healthcare organizations including College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), Medical Users Software Exchange (MUSE), Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), KLAS Enterprises, and is a Platinum sponsor of HIStalk.

Mr. Torti received a Bachelor of Science in both Business Administration and Accounting, as well as an MBA from The University of Toledo.

KennellyAs Human Resources Director at ESD, Kelly Kennelly is tasked with recruitment and hiring for employees company-wide along with developing, implementing and administering HR related policies and procedures, and she works closely with the executive team on an ongoing basis to evolve and hone policies, process and desired skill profiles.

Before coming to ESD, Ms. Kennelly gained extensive expertise in healthcare HR management through more than a decade of service, including tenure as Director of Human Resources at the prominent Toledo Clinic. She also brings a unique perspective from more than five years on the front lines of HR and operations as owner and operator of a successful healthcare wellness business.

Ms. Kennelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

MortemoreAs Deployment Director, Angela Mortemore oversees a team of recruitment specialists, interviewers and administrative staff focused on acquiring and maintaining premier HIT talent for ESD. Mrs. Mortemore’s fluency with the end-to-end recruitment cycle allows her to implement recruitment strategies that align with ESD’s culture, policies and goals – and ensure all clients have access to an end-to-end HIT skill set.

Before coming to ESD, Mrs. Mortemore was an account executive at a corporate consulting firm, where she was responsible for selecting, recruiting and training employees to serve international firms. Prior to that, she worked in recruitment and sales for multiple technology firms.

Mrs. Mortemore earned dual Bachelor degrees in Marketing and Business Management from Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio.

SparksAs Controller of ESD, Ms. Sparks manages the financial welfare of the company – including accounts receivable, accounts payable and all revenue cycle activities.

With 20+ years of experience managing a wide variety of industries, her knowledge of financial management lends well to the advisory aspects of the firm’s well-being.

She attained her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.

KregoTim Krego fulfills and exceeds his responsibly as Systems Administrator for ESD by overseeing all IT related activities for both internal and external initiatives. With his depth of healthcare experience and creative approach to technology, Mr. Krego helps keep ESD at the front end of the HIT advance by working closely with executive management to shape processes, new initiatives and best practices.

Before joining ESD leadership, Mr. Krego gained more than a decade of intensive HIT experience as Database and Systems Administrator for a leading private healthcare firm. He also brings certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, providing valuable insight and confidence to each project he works on.

AlexanderAs the Testing Practice Director at ESD, John leads all testing engagements for ESD clients, consulting with them prior to and during engagements to best structure a testing program that meets the goals of the organization’s unique needs.

Mr. Alexander’s background includes leadership in Integrated and Regression testing initiatives at organizations across the country. Prior to working in testing roles, his experience included 13 years of implementation support including system design and build, report writing, end-user training and go-live support. His well-rounded experience ensures that testing plans are thoroughly prepared and that all aspects of the implementation are carefully considered. This allows for a successful transition to a new or upgraded HIT platform.
